To be Henrik Lundqvist is to suit up. When the Swedish-born goaltender of the New York Rangers isn’t sporting Blueshirt No. 30, he may wear a dapper three-piece number. On Sundays, though, Mr. Lundqvist, 28 — who won a gold medal in the 2006 Winter Olympics blocking pucks for Sweden’s national hockey team — dresses down, relaxing at the movies or playing his guitar. He lives with his fiancée, Therese Andersson, 28, and their 4-year-old Doberman, Nova, in a two-bedroom duplex in the West 50s with a terrace and a hot tub.

HIT SNOOZE BUTTON I try to sleep in, get up around 9:30 or 10. Relax. Maybe go for a run.
WITH THE DOBERMAN? Usually, Therese does that. I always get the night shift — that was the deal when we got the dog.
BRUNCH OF CHAMPIONS A goat cheese omelet. I love goat cheese.
FASHION FREE I don’t really have a Sunday look. I take whatever I find: a collared shirt, jeans and a jacket. If it’s a day off, it’s definitely not a suit.
CATCH A MOVIE I like to go to the movie theater — Lincoln Center, the big one with the Imax. It’s more about the actors: a lot of times they are the difference between whether it’s going to be a good or a bad movie. Robert De Niro, Denzel Washington and Christian Bale are my top three. It could be anything: comedy, action, thriller. Usually, it’s in the afternoon, when it’s quiet and there aren’t too many people.
DOUBLE FEATURE Now that we’ve renovated the place, it’s pretty good to sit at home and watch movies. The last movie I saw was “The Godfather.” I never really watched them growing up, so when we flew back from Sweden last summer, we bought all three. I still haven’t seen the last one.
MUSICAL MOMENTS I play the electric guitar. At home, I play more acoustic. I started when I was 9. I played for two years, and then kind of stopped. My twin brother played the bass, and my older sister played the drums, so we played at home a lot: a family band for a few years.
DINNER IN HELL’S KITCHEN There are a lot of good restaurants along Ninth Avenue. I wouldn’t say that I have a favorite place, but Bocca di Bacco is great. I just love Italian food, all kinds of pasta. I order it a lot when I’m in restaurants, but I also eat it four times a week when I’m playing games. At Maria Pia, a place on 51st between Eighth and Ninth Avenues, they have really good goat cheese ravioli.
DO YOU GET RECOGNIZED? It’s a comfortable level. You can live your life and be relaxed — that’s what I love about New York. Being in Sweden, you feel like you’re being watched.
TIVO TIME Therese always TiVos everything. I like to watch “Dexter.” And “House.” It’s just funny; he’s so bitter. I like him as an actor.
WALK THE DOG I always do it right before I go to bed, which is around 10:30 or 11 o’clock. A lot of times I’m so tired that I just want to go to sleep, but that’s my shift — I just have to suck it up. Once, I came home from a benefit and walked her while wearing a tux.
SLUMBER PARTY She thinks she’s a small dog, like she weighs five pounds. But she weighs, I don’t know, 75 pounds. She can’t sleep on the floor; she always has to sleep on the bed. A lot of times you wake up and you have a 75-pound Doberman on top of you. Sometimes you wake up and your back is pretty sore. Facing the bed, I sleep on the left side. Nova is in the middle.
