NEW YORK (WFAN) – New York Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist joined WFAN’s Boomer & Carton to discuss 2009/2010′s disastrous ending, and talks about the upcoming 2010/2011 campaign.
“Being so close, you work the whole year to reach that goal… it was tough,” said Lundqvist about missing the playoffs in 2009. “The couple weeks right after, they were pretty low.”
The Rangers were eliminated by the Philadelphia Flyers in a 2-1 shootout loss on the final day of the regular season.
Craig Carton asked the Rangers’ goalie to guarantee a playoff berth for the upcoming season.
King Henrik’s answer?
“Absolutely… we will. I promise.”
