From Ranger Rants:
Henrik Lundqvist earned his second shutout of the season and the 26th of his career. He said getting a lead on the Devils is crucial because of their style of play. He also loves beating the Devils, regardless of who’s wearing the red and black uniform.
“In the second period they had some pressure on us,” Lundqvist said. “I think we did a good job of staying in the middle and pushing them to the outside. Against the Devils, if you can get the lead, it’s usually a big help. They usually stay back and wait for mistakes. If you get a lead, they have to open up.
“I don’t think it was an easy win, even though you look at their record and see they’re a struggling team. Beating the Devils is always a good feeling.”
