Henrik Lundqvist stopped 29 of 31 shots he faced in tonight’s game. The Rangers’ all-time wins and shutouts leader has made at least 25 saves in each of his first five games this season, including 29 or more saves in four of those contests. As of the conclusion of tonight’s game, Lundqvist leads the NHL in saves (154) and shots against (165) this season, and he has also made more saves than any other NHL goaltender has shots against thus far in 2015-16. In 147 career regular season games in which he and another Vezina Trophy winner have both started, Lundqvist has posted an 89-45-13 record, along with a 2.18 GAA, a .923 SV%, and 14 SO. In addition, Lundqvist has posted a 7-4-0 record, along with a 1.82 GAA, a .940 SV%, and 1 SO in the last 11 games in which he and a Vezina Trophy winner have both started. In his last 32 regular season appearances (dating back to Dec. 8, 2014 vs. Pittsburgh), Lundqvist has registered a 24-8-0 record, along with a 1.98 GAA, a .934 SV%, and 1 SO, and he has allowed two or fewer goals in 24 of the 32 contests.
