Henrik Lundqvist made 39 saves, stopped 34 of 35 shots he faced at even strength in the contest, stopped all 28 shots he faced over the final two periods of the game, and tallied an assist to earn his seventh win of the 2018-19 season and the 438th win of his NHL career. By earning a win in tonight's contest, Lundqvist passed Hall of Famer Jacques Plante for sole possession of seventh place on the NHL's all-time wins list. He is now seven wins away from tying Hall of Famer Terry Sawchuk for sixth place on the NHL's all-time wins list. In addition, including his 61 career playoff wins, Lundqvist has earned 499 wins (regular season and playoffs combined) in the NHL (and as a Ranger). Lundqvist made his 21,616th career save in tonight's game, passing Hall of Famer Grant Fuhr for sole possession of 10th place on the NHL's all-time saves list (since shots on goal and saves were first tracked in 1955-56). Lundqvist also made his 821st career NHL appearance in tonight's game, passing Sean Burke for sole possession of 13th place on the league's all-time appearances list. Lundqvist has made at least 30 saves in 10 of his 16 appearances this season; he has posted a .900 SV% or better in 13 of his 16 appearances in 2018-19 (including eight of his last nine appearances), and he has also posted a .925 SV% or better in eight of 16 appearances. He was selected as the game's Second Star tonight, and he has been selected as one of the game's Three Stars in eight of 16 appearances in 2018-19. He has earned at least one point in each of his last six decisions, dating back to Oct. 30 at San Jose (5-0-1 record, along with one no-decision, over the span). Lundqvist registered his 24th career NHL assist in tonight's game, which is tied for the 15th-most among goaltenders in NHL history. In addition, he is one assist away from tying John Vanbiesbrouck for the most assists by a goaltender in franchise history.
