Henrik Lundqvist made 42 saves in the contest, including 17 in each of the first two periods, to earn his seventh win of the 2015 Playoffs and his 50th career NHL playoff win. Lundqvist’s 42 saves are the most he has made in one playoff game which ended in regulation in his career. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Lundqvist’s 42 saves are tied for the third-most a Rangers goaltender has registered in a playoff game which ended in regulation since the NHL expanded in 1967-68. He has posted a 13-3 record, along with a 1.42 GAA, a .955 SV%, and 2 SO in the last 16 games in which the Blueshirts have faced elimination. Since the start of last year’s playoffs, he has posted a 7-1 record, along with a 1.37 GAA and a .960 SV% (286 saves on 298 shots) when the Rangers have faced elimination. By earning a win in tonight’s contest, Lundqvist became the 18th goaltender in NHL history to register 50 career playoff wins.
