Henrik Lundqvist made 31 saves in regulation and overtime, and stopped two of three shooters he faced in the shootout, to earn his second win of the 2018-19 season and the 433rd win of his NHL career. He was selected as the game's Third Star. Lundqvist is now four wins away from tying Hockey Hall of Famer Jacques Plante for seventh place on the NHL's all-time wins list. Lundqvist stopped 31 of 33 shots he faced in tonight's game, including 26 of 27 shots he faced at even strength. Through five appearances this season, Lundqvist has stopped 153 of 163 shots he has faced (.939 SV%), including 130 of 135 shots he has faced at even strength (.963 SV% at even strength), and he has allowed two goals in each of his five appearances. Lundqvist's .939 SV% through five appearances this season is the third-best he has posted though his first five appearances of any season in his career (2011-12 - .946; 2005-06 - .944). Lundqvist appeared in his 810th career game as a Ranger tonight; he is now one appearance away from tying Jim Neilson (811) for the eighth-most regular season appearances by a Rangers player (skater or goaltender) in franchise history.
