Henrik Lundqvist Post-Game Video Interview + Notes








Henrik Lundqvist made 22 saves in regulation and overtime and stopped two of three shooters he faced in the shootout to earn his 10th win of the season, including his sixth consecutive win. Lundqvist has earned a point in nine consecutive appearances for the first time in his NHL career (7-0-2) (Note: he earned a point in 10 straight appearances in which he was credited with the decision in the game from Feb. 16 – Mar. 10, 2008 (8-0-2) and from Mar. 16 – Apr. 5, 2007 (8-0-2)). Lundqvist extended his personal winning streak to six games, which is tied for the third-longest personal winning streak of his NHL career. He has also posted a personal winning streak of six games or more in length four times in his NHL career. Over his personal six-game winning streak, Lundqvist has posted a 1.32 GAA, a .955 SV% (171 saves on 179 shots), and 1 SO. Lundqvist has now allowed two goals or fewer in nine consecutive road appearances (dating back to Mar. 31, 2015 at Winnipeg), marking the first time he has accomplished the feat in his NHL career. In 2015-16, Lundqvist has played 130:27 in situations when the Rangers have either been tied or held a one-goal lead at any point in the third period. In those situations, Lundqvist has posted a 0.45 GAA and a .986 SV% (73 saves on 74 shots). As of the conclusion of today’s game, Lundqvist leads the NHL in saves (427), is tied for the NHL lead in wins (10), and ranks second in the NHL in GAA (1.69) and SV% (.947). Lundqvist’s 10 wins are the most he has earned in his first 14 appearances of one season in his career. Lundqvist has been named one of the game’s Three Stars in 11 of the 14 contests he has played in 2015-16, including 11 of his last 13 appearances and nine of his last 10 appearances. He has been named the game’s First Star seven times and the game’s Third Star four times. In addition, he has been named the game’s First Star in seven of the 10 games he has won this season.
