Henrik Lundqvist Post-Game Video Interview + Notes






Henrik Lundqvist stopped 32 of 34 shots he faced, including all 14 shots he faced in the third period, and earned his 340th career NHL win while making his 10th consecutive start in a Rangers’ regular season opener (dating back to 2006-07). Lundqvist is the second goaltender in franchise history who has started in at least 10 straight season-opening games (Ed Giacomin – 11; 1965-66 – 1975-76). In addition, Lundqvist is the fourth Rangers goaltender to start in at least 10 regular season openers, joining Giacomin, Gump Worsley, and Mike Richter, and he is also the fourth goaltender in franchise history who has appeared in a regular season game in at least 11 different seasons with the Blueshirts, joining Richter (14), Giacomin (11), and John Vanbiesbrouck (11). Lundqvist is the 27th Ranger who has appeared in one regular season game in at least 11 different seasons in franchise history. In nine career appearances against Chicago, Lundqvist has posted a 6-1-2 record, along with a 1.98 GAA and a .935 SV%. In 10 career regular season openers, Lundqvist has posted a 6-3-1 record, along with a 2.49 GAA and a .916 SV%. -
