Post-Game Notes & Reaction

•Henrik Lundqvist made 13 saves in net, and has now posted a record of 21-16-3 overall with an 8-8-2 mark at home. It is only the second time in his last 13 games that Lundqvist has allowed more than three goals.

From Rangers Report:

Henrik Lundqvist:

“They just had all the luck they could have, if you look at their goals, the deflections they had. It just felt like we worked ourselves back into the game and had a really good feeling, but it wasn’t enough. Overall the last few games, if you look at what happened to the team, we’ve done a pretty good job.

“It’s going to be a good feeling to see a lot of the guys back when we start again. There are some key guys out. It’s always a different feeling when you’re missing that many guys. But at the same time, we have dome guys coming up who have been doing a great job for us. I think we’ve done a pretty good job. We’ve been fighting a lot and trying to get points every night.”

On the second goal:

“It was going toward (his blocker) and then it hit one of their guys’ gloves, I think, and went to the right. So, you know, it’s just one of those nights where it just bounced their way, I guess.”

On Brian Boyle:

“He took his game to another level this year He’s strong on the puck and everything about his game he has improved and he;s been good for us. Prust improved a lot from last year. Their line has been the best surprise so far this year.”
