New Henrik Lundqvist Swedish Video Interview

New York Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist has been away from hockey since the beginning of February. Tomorrow he trains with the team for the first time since the injury in the neck that could have developed into a cerebral hemorrhage. He says to SVT Sport that he will play with a special cover.

- We have built an extraordinary thing for the neck that makes me not to get one for whiplash. I have been approved for full contact, so we will see, the protection is well more reassuring thing right now.

Do you know of protection?

- I know it when I lean your head back, not so much to the sides. It is well back wing are not wanted now once.

Henrik Lundqvist has trained himself hard, in four to five weeks. Tomorrow he'll run with the team for the first time. And he says that the goal is to play the game already this week. Not tomorrow, but this week.

Is there any concern you?

- I think that first practice - that when there was little in the back of the head. When they (the coaches) shot loudly that I was trying to protect the neck on neck and avoid some pucks. It is in your head a little. But I feel more and more comfortable for each training that goes.

Henrik Lundqvist is Now a Tag Heuer Brand Ambassador

HENRIK LUNDQVIST NOW IN GOAL FOR TAG HEUER

TAG Heuer Signs All-Star NHL Hockey Goaltender Henrik Lundqvist as Brand Ambassador. “King Henrik”, star goalie of the New York Rangers and the Swedish National Team, is now officially in net for TAG Heuer. Considered one of the NHL’s best netminders, Henrik’s on ice play exemplifies Tag Heuer’s values of performance and precision. Off the ice, Henrik always looks the part and never compromises, being a regular fixture of the world’s best-dressed lists. Now he adds the ultimate masculine accessory to his wardrobe—the TAG Heuer Carrera.

The Olympic Gold Medalist, Vezina Trophy winner and New York Rangers’ all-time wins leader joins other great TAG Heuer sporting celebrities — Cristiano Ronaldo, Maria Sharapova, Kei Nishikori, Jenson Button, Jeremy Lin, Sébastien Ogier, and Marlou van Rhijn among them — in spreading the Swiss watchmaker’s legendary message #DontCrackUnderPressure.

As the Rangers and the Swedish Olympic team’s last line of defence, Henrik knows all about standing up to pressure — doing whatever it takes. No one in the game does it better. The first goalie to win at least 30 games in his first seven seasons in the NHL, he is well known for his athleticism, acrobatic saves, endurance, and clutch performances, making him the undisputed king of the NHL.

“I am very excited to be joining such an iconic global brand like Tag Heuer. There’s no ‘masking’ my enthusiasm and appreciation for TAG Heuer,” said Henrik Lundqvist during the announcement of his partnership with the brand. “We share the same outlook on life: the #DontCrackUnderPressure message is one that I live by every day and every game. I look forward to many exciting adventures with TAG Heuer in the future.”

Jean-Claude Biver, CEO of TAG Heuer and President of LVMH Watches, enthusiastically welcomed Henrik Lundqvist to the TAG Heuer team. “ Henrik is a perfect fit for the TAG Heuer Family. His fighting spirit on the ice and in life are the very ones TAG Heuer expresses through the motto #DontCrackUnderPressure. Yet it is also his charity work that sets him apart from the others: fierce and generous, he pushes himself to the limite on and off the ice, and creates positive change for people less fortunate. Thank you Henrik for joining our Dream Team!”
