Henrik Lundqvist Will Possibly Play in the World Cup? (Hopefully Not) ; Wants Joel to Become a Ranger

Henrik Lundqvist dreaming of the Stanley Cup, but admits that the hockey World Cup at home is something special.
If the New York Rangers in the NHL fails, then we can count on the world's best goalkeeper in the Tre Kronor in the Globe.
- It's not often you get the chance to play a World Cup on home soil. So yes, it feels a little bit extra, says Henrik.
As also celebrates some Swedish NHL rookies, revealing what he fought hard for the NHL contract and launches its proposal for the Swedish hockey can be better.
Last year's winner of the Vezina Trophy, the prize to the NHL's best goalie, is in the midst of a dramatic dash battle with his New York Rangers.
31-year-old Lundqvist is currently in its eighth season in New York and wants of course nothing more than to experience a parade with the Stanley Cup on Fifth Avenue.
Photos from recent triumph, 1994, hanging all around both the home arena Madison Square Garden and the Rangers Fitness outside Manhattan.
"Of course it feels a little extra"
- Of course it is inspiring to see the pictures and it happens now and then that I daydream about experiencing a Stanley Cup victory with the Rangers, Henrik confesses.
You obviously want to play the World Cup, you want to win the Stanley Cup with the New York Rangers. But for players that will be available for the World Cup - certainly attracts the extra when it is in the Globe?
- Of course you would rather not play the World Cup. But if you can do it and it's at home so of course it's very exciting. Of course it is. It's not often you get the chance to play a World Cup on home soil. So yes, it feels a little bit extra.
To Henry's brother Joel is already a part of the World Cup of course means that any World Cup games attract even more in the event that the Rangers miss the playoffs.
"I know he will not give up"
Joel, by the way, is not it time for your brother Joel to make comeback in the NHL?
- Yes, why not? He has got to be whole and healthy - knock on wood - and had a good season. I know he has not given up the dream and will only bid so right.
You have not told Rangers boss Glen Sather that he should enlist your brother?
- You never know, haha. I know this has been an issue before and it is clear, there would be an opportunity for us to play together again, it would be great fun.
Less fun has this season been for the Rangers, who are not at all fulfilled the high expectations.
- It will be tight until the last game. You just have to adjust to a war. There are many good teams in the league, says Henrik.
Last year, the semifinals, now a tough fight just to make the playoffs - are you surprised?
- No. There are so many good teams and the difference between top and bottom is not be great. We have not got what we had hoped for from now. At times it is good. At times it is less good. We must do better.
What about your own performance?
- I think it's been okay. But as a goalie, I would help the team and we have not won enough games. The goal here and there I managed to stop in crucial situations, as it is required of me. Had we had more wins, I'd be much more satisfied.
"We can raise all of us"
Lundqvist is self-critical - and demand better of the Rangers.
- We can raise all of us. If we get it to sue and all are healthy, then we can go all the way. There are so evenly. You have to work really hard for it, many times it's more about attitude than quality. Do you have twenty players working hard and thinking that it is just win that applies when one can get very far.
It was a long fall at home in Sweden before the new NHL contract was clear - what was your impression of the premier league?
- Good goalie games, there are many good goalkeepers in the premier league, it has certainly progressed in recent years.
Were you a cool crowd or put you and screamed at the referee?
- I sat and cried for his brother that he would hang it there.
If you were "Gary Bettman of Swedish hockey" - what would you change that?
- I personally think it is tremendous fun hockey on the smaller rinks in the NHL. It's faster, be more physical hockey. I like the intensity and speed and a straighter game. I think it would be great if you could also play at small rinks at home. It's not a bad idea, while a huge decision, but it would be fun to see if the audience would think it was fun hockey.
"One should never give up on a dream"
Speaking of funny hockey - Lundqvist expects NHL players in Sochi Olympics next year.
- Yes, it would be folly if we are not in the Olympics. It means a lot for the sport that the best players are in the Olympics.
Lundqvist live in the present, and therefore, he was also involved in negotiations with the NHL and had a heart issue that he ran hard during meetings.
The rule as to how quickly the NHL clubs must take the players you draftat. It was changed from two to four years.
- NHL thought they were doing us a favor players with two-year rule. But it has just made everyone become stressed. When I was drafted had clubs rights for life and I waited five years before I came here. In recent years, many players have stressed over here too soon.
Some who have not had such a hurry is Jakob Silfverberg and Viktor Fasth.
- Viktor shows that you should never give up on a dream. He's been working hard and it has paid off. He has shown that it is possible to fight here and there is no need to rush.
"Felt right away that it was wrong"
Lundqvist celebrates even Silfverberg - despite Ottawa's rookie already made several goals at Lundqvist.
- Last, I was a little too eager, James brought in Alfredsson in the middle as well and I ended up in the wrong timing. I knew immediately that it was wrong, even before the shot came. James is very talented. He has a great shot, he's good with the puck and he's strong, can handle the physical game well. He holds very high class.

Henrik Lundqvist To Design A Shampoo Bottle Inspired By NYC

Fahrman and Lundqvist in design collaboration

New York Swedes Henrik Lundqvist and Sofi Fahrman passion both for fashion and style. This summer is the question of a new collaborative design limited edition inspired by the city that they love. We meet the style conscious duo in Manhattan.
Ice rink outside The Standard Grill is white. Inside the restaurant is lunch rush and the raw New York cold slowly releasing its grip when we sink into armchairs in one of the noisy restaurant's empty stalls. One of the world's best hockey goalies "King Henry" and Sweden's own Heidi Klum, Sofi Fahrman, bloggers and fashion director at Sofis fashion, has just finished his day's advertising photography in Brooklyn for their new design collaboration: a shampoflaska (shampoo bottle) inspired by the city of New York. They have worked together throughout the fall and when we talk you get the feeling that they had known each other all their lives, like a dear old couple. The design process has evolved during meetings in Stockholm, over the phone and via email, but the inspiration and the final work has been done in New York

Sofi Fahrman the habit inside of working with fashion in New York. She always has her camera on the shoulder, when we meet, she has already photographed 60 images - the same day.

- I am often asked "but how can you rowing, book projects, newspaper and television at the same time"? And it's this town I have to thank. Whenever I go out I find materials, inspiration, I can easily fill the pages of newspapers, a blog and think of some funny chapter.

Now, she has lived in New York for almost four years, but today she shares time between Stockholm and Verbier in Switzerland.

She believes that the job also a rescue in the city that never sleeps. The fully subscribed calendar with many deadlines become an anchor in everyday life, otherwise it is easy to be absorbed by the pulse and be "carried away".

For Henrik Lundqvist got a contract with the world's best hockey league start of his life across the Atlantic. Today, seven years ago.

A pronounced interest in style pervades the media image of hockey pro. He celebrated both internationally and at home for her bubbly and has topped many lists for best dressed. Last year he ended up example of the American men's fashion and lifestyle magazine Esquires list. Last year started Henrik Lundqvist also has its own brand of clothing, the Crown Collection - a line of sports and fitness accessories where the profit goes to charity.

In New York he feels freer in style.

- In Sweden, one is steeped in a certain way, it is clear that we have different backgrounds and all that, but here you have all the mixes of cultures and styles. You have a different transparency because of it and I think you relax a little more as well, you can be just as you want and everyone is fine with it, says Henrik Lundqvist.

The move to New York would have affected his style, which he describes as "well-dressed with an edge", with plenty of costumes (suits) but also leather jackets and boots, he does not believe.

- When I see how my style has changed, then it may not be as much of New York to do, but more that I have gotten older and grown up. Between 17 and 22 something, then it was very "try again" and trying to find himself. Then when I moved here, so maybe I found my style.

And look creates reactions. Often he gets feedback from the team that he is overdressed and "dressar up."

- I got some comments at the beginning of teammates, it was much Canadians and Americans who may not be as interested in clothes, so it was a little culture shock with some of the team. It is clear that my suits sitting at a lot more and the first year I had skinny tie and there was not here then.

A seamstress tailor sometimes his suits so that they get the perfect cut. Often, he has looked a silhouette he likes. Favorite brands are Calvin Klein, Hugo Boss, Tiger of Sweden and Prada.

During his travels he fits in to shop. Sofi Fahrman however prefer shopping in New York.

- There is so much more so that makes you you yourself can go the whole hog just because supply is better, it is easier to dress more inspiration here and maybe find a designer that no one else has, and it's fun.

Sofi Fahrman describes his style as "pretty Swedish" and minimalist easy to wear, she does not like bright colors and patterns. It should be as simple as possible. Instead, it is the details that may speak.

- I'll put money on fancy handbags and shoes.

Lundqvist Voices Support For NHL's Gay-Rights Initiative

Lundqvist, who has appeared in a video in support of the You Can Play Project, says he'd be equally supportive of an openly gay teammate or NHL colleague.

BY PETER BOTTE / NEW YORK DAILY NEWS

Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist applauded the announcement Thursday that the NHL and NHLPA have formed an official partnership with the You Can Play Project, the year-old advocacy organization that fights homophobia in sports.
"I think it's a good thing. For me, it's not even a question," Lundqvist said after Rangers practice Friday in Greenburgh. "I think it's important that everybody knows that we respect everybody. Everybody deserves to play this game, it doesn't matter who you are.
"It's not really a discussion to me. It should be there. I think we should embrace it and we should support it."

Lundqvist, among several prominent NHLers who appeared in a video in support of You Can Play last year, believes people in his native Sweden are "more open-minded" on the topic of sexual orientation than those in North America. He added that he would support an openly gay teammate or NHL player.
"A lot of times that's what it takes, just to talk about it and get it out there so it's not uncomfortable for people," Lundqvist said. "If someone is gay, I hope he feels comfortable talking about it. I don't have a problem with it at all.
"I hope everybody feels comfortable being themselves and just be the way they want to be, stop feeling any pressure when it comes to everything - religion or whatever it might be."
Flyers scout Patrick Burke, son of longtime NHL general manager Brian Burke, started the You Can Play initiative following the death of his 21-year-old younger brother, Brendan, in a car accident in Feb. 2010. Brendan Burke had announced in 2009 that he was gay and had worked to try to combat homophobia in hockey and other sports.

See Henrik Lundqvist Get His Redesigned Lamborghini Delivered To Him

Instead of Lamborghini, his car now has Lundqvist on the back. This is awesome.

Last week on Henrik's Instagram he shared a couple of pictures of his Lambo being worked on. He said that now that spring is here, it was time for a change of color. At the time, his Lambo was black.

Here is what Proformance Industries had to say about the transformation of Henrik's Lambo:

The Lambo is back in the shop for yet another color change. This time Mr. Lundqvist wanted something a little different. He wanted to keep the matte finish but was tired of black. After some brain storming sessions, the evil genius formulated a medium gunship grey metallic. The matte finish, with the metallic flake will make this car stand out in the current sea of Gallardo's. Check back for updates.Henrik Lundqvist's Lambo is complete. We gave this car a matte black paint job, with gloss black wheels. We added 20% tint to finish off the stealth look.

Proformance Industries delivered the car to Henrik during yesterday's practice. (see picture above)
