Henrik Lundqvist at Steiner Sports Autograph Signing

Thanks to all my readers who shared these photos of Henrik at yesterdays Steiner Sports appearance.

Reader Randy had this to say about Henrik:

"We went to the signing last night. Henrik spoke to every fan and posed for pictures with every one of us. (and believe me, there was ALOT of fans) He is AMAZING. So glad I got a chance to meet him."

Over at the NYRBlog, Kevin noticed that Henrik is wearing a ring on his finger (you can clearly see it in the above photos) and wondered if perhaps he had gotten married already. Relax everyone, he's not married yet. A Swedish reader informed him that in Sweden, men wear engagement rings as well. Jim Cerny confirmed that Henrik and Therese are getting married later on this summer.

Henrik Lundqvist Page Six Sighting

Sorry for the late posting, I was very busy today and will be for the rest of the week. I was surprised to hear that Henrik is in LA. I thought he might be hanging around Tiny's with Avery. I'm not surprised to hear he doesn't want to watch playoff hockey. It's hard when you're not in it. I know I find it hard and I'm just a fan. Anyway, we know he will be back for an appearance here in NY on the 19th.

New York Ranger goalie Henrik Lundqvist was not amused Saturday night when his pals suggested they watch the hockey playoffs. The Swedish star, still sore after his team was eliminated from the playoffs late last month by the Washington Capitals, "rolled his eyes" when his group insisted on leaving the Samsung Droid Charge launch party at Palihouse in LA to head to a sports bar to watch the hockey, a spy told us, adding: "He was overheard saying it was 'the last thing he wanted to do.' " But he was overruled and the group, with a reluctant Lundqvist in tow, headed to the Parlour, a nearby sports bar.

Henrik Lundqvist Wrote a Big Check

According to Sean Avery...

The aptly named Tiny's, at 135 West Broadway, opens for dinner this week. Mr. Avery, usually seen wielding a hockey stick, has lately been spotted clearing tables. “Some Swedish guys on vacation were shocked when I filled their water glasses,” said the Rangers forward, who now has time to hang around his joint every day. “I'm doing everything I can—except my chef doesn't want me in the kitchen.”
That chef is John Martinez, formerly of Jean-Georges Vongerichten's Mercer Kitchen and Spice Market, who rustles up New American Italian fare.
Tiny's is Mr. Avery's second joint; he opened sports bar Warren 77 two years ago with Matt Abramcyk (of Beatrice Inn fame), who is also a partner in Tiny's along with his siblings, Ana and Jack. Mr. Lundqvist, the Rangers goalie, plays more of a supporting role: “He wrote a big check,” said his teammate, “and he'll do his part to promote Tiny's.”
Mr. Avery expects to open more Big Apple eateries at some point. “I want to stay in the business. There is good money in it if the place is busy.”
